Chulu West (6,4194m.) Chulu West is the highest peak and more difficult to climb among Chulus. We follow the classical Annapurna massif circuit trek up to Letdar just below Thorung la Pass and trek up to a small valley north of Manang to set up the base camp. North – West Ridge is the normal route for climbing Chulu West. From the base camp we climb steep scree slopes to a col and then climb snow slopes to the base of a band of rock and set up a high camp at 5200m. We climb the rock band with fixed ropes and some difficulty to the north – west shoulder of Chulu West where another camp can be fixed. We continue along the narrowing ridge to the summit.
